Backend developer, integrations

What you will do

You will connect client sites to the systems behind them: stock, bookings, student records and accounting. Most integrations are small Node.js or Python services with a PostgreSQL database.

• Read other companies’ API documents and build reliable connections to them.
• Write tests that run against recorded responses, and alerts for when things fail.
• Keep the services updated and documented for the people who take them over.

What we look for

• Three or more years building and running web services.
• Comfort with SQL, queues and retries.
• Clear writing: half of this job is explaining what a system does.
